Job Summary

Flex-N-Gate is a leading manufacturer and supplier of components for the automotive industry. We are seeking an experienced Electrician to join our team. The successful candidate will work as part of a team to install, test, troubleshoot and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, control devices and related equipment in a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment, following electrical code and blueprints.
  • Diagnose malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures.
  • Replace faulty electrical components of machines such as relays, switches and motors and position sensing devices.
  • May plan layout of wiring and install wiring, conduit and electrical apparatus in building.
  • May push buttons and press keys on robot controller, teach pendant and programmable controller to program automated machinery such as robots.

Requirements

  • Red Seal Certificate of Qualification for Electrician
  • Possess a current Provincial Electrician license
  • Ability to work independently in a busy environment
  • Experience with routine maintenance operations
  • Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment
  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
  • Able to work well under pressure
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Able to read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications
  • Knowledge of safe operating procedures
  • Self-starter, with developed analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Computer literate
  • Adhere to requests from supervisors, lead hands
  • Prioritize and perform work with minimal supervision
  • Complete tasks efficiently and timely
  • Must be able to trouble shoot stamping press transfer systems
  • Capability to recognize and understand electrical blue prints and PLC ladder diagrams
  • Ability to interpret logic as required
  • Must be able to work 3 shift operation (Midnights, Afternoons, Days)
