Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Facilities Maintenance Specialist to join our team at YW Calgary. In this role, you will be responsible for the general upkeep of our facilities, ensuring they are safe, efficient, and well-maintained.

About the Role: As a Facilities Maintenance Specialist, you will be responsible for monitoring, inspecting, and maintaining building systems such as heating, electrical, mechanical, and security systems. You will also perform daily inspections of common areas, including the outside grounds, to ensure good appearance of the property.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and maintain building systems, including heating, electrical, mechanical, and security systems
  • Perform daily inspections of common areas, including the outside grounds
  • Conduct minor electrical and plumbing work, such as changing light bulbs both internally and externally
  • Undertake minor repairs and maintenance to the building
  • Liaise with various personnel and contractors hired
  • Work with various mechanical equipment, including pumps, motors, fans, heating coils, etc.
  • Regularly inventory and upkeep of supplies, tools, and equipment
  • Respond to building work requests and emergencies in a timely fashion

Requirements:

  • Three to five years' experience in facilities maintenance
  • WHMIS and valid First Aid certification required
  • Flexibility in hours worked, may include some evening or weekend work
  • Able to work independently as well as part of a team
  • This role is physically strenuous, requires lifting up to 50 lbs, moving office furniture, equipment, and supplies
