Job Title: Environmental Sustainability Manager

Job Summary:

Fuze HR Solutions is seeking an experienced Environmental Sustainability Manager to join our team in Vancouver. As an Environmental Sustainability Manager, you will play a key role in supporting major infrastructure and industrial projects by ensuring all necessary environmental permits and assessments are obtained efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Environmental Permitting: Prepare and submit environmental and regulatory plans, and environmental permit applications from federal and provincial agencies.
  • Impact Assessments: Assist private and government clients in obtaining Environmental Assessment Certificates.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with environmental assessment (EAC) and permit conditions through effective tracking, reporting, and sign-off processes.
  • Permitting Work: Oversee permitting work that involves multiple disciplines, including freshwater and marine aquatic habitats, bird, mammals, and other wildlife habitats, air quality, noise, vibration, and archaeology.
  • Baseline and Monitoring Programs: Implement marine and freshwater aquatic baseline and monitoring programs to support permit applications and verify compliance requirements.
  • Fish Habitat Restoration: Plan and implement fish habitat restoration, enhancement, and creation plans, designs, and reports, including offsetting plans.
  • Heritage Requirements: Implement heritage requirements related to construction projects with archaeologists.
  • Regulatory and Environmental Advice: Provide strategic regulatory and environmental advice to clients related to project design, impact mitigation, and obtaining environmental approvals.
  • Stakeholder Relationships: Develop and maintain good working relationships with EAO, DFO, FLNRO, other government agencies, Indigenous nations, and stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in biology, environmental science, or environmental resource management.
  • Professional Designation: Professional designation or Qualified Professional status.
  • Experience: 12 to 15 years of experience, primarily in British Columbia, with major infrastructure and industrial projects.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Strong familiarity of EAO, DFO, FLNRO, and other provincial agencies.
