We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineering Leader to join our Individual Insurance agile teams at Equitable Life of Canada.

The role involves working directly with key leaders to understand business needs and help support their strategies with technology solutions. As a Senior Technology Specialist, you will develop and implement technologies that support both internal and external clients, while providing technical and practice leadership to continuously evolve our capabilities and technologies.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead cross-functional agile teams in developing, testing, launching, and refining solutions to optimize the Individual Insurance servicing experience. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with coding languages such as React, Angular, .NET, C#, SQL, and KQL, as well as tools and development frameworks like PowerShell, NPM, VSC, GIT, Docker, K8S, and ReactJS.

As a Software Engineering Leader, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and unit testing code, delivering on objectives established by business partners. You will also work with delivery teams to ensure understanding of objectives, requirements, and specifications.

This is a hybrid role, requiring you to work in our office in Waterloo, ON a minimum of two (2) assigned, consecutive days every other week, plus a fifth (5th) assigned day per month. While this role has a significant amount of flexibility, there may be times when you are required to complete work outside of normal business hours to meet project deadlines and support weekend implementations.

To succeed in this role, you will require a minimum of 5 years of experience in IT, with multi-domain experience and post-secondary degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in computer science, computer systems engineering, or software engineering. You will also need hands-on working knowledge of React, .NET, C#, PWAs, APIs, Azure DevOps/Cloud, SQL, and Design Library Systems, as well as experience with agile practices, scrum delivery, test automation, and Azure Pipelines.

In addition to your technical skills, you will bring excellent communication and collaboration skills, as well as the ability to provide technical leadership and oversight to junior team members. You will also be required to participate in rotating on-call shifts and may be required to complete work outside of normal business hours to meet project deadlines and support weekend implementations.

The salary for this role is estimated to be around $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
