Job Summary

The Construction Foreman will be responsible for overseeing daily site operations, managing crews, ensuring safety compliance, and maintaining project quality and timelines. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills to act as the link between workers and management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain and execute the construction schedule to ensure full completion of the project prior to the closing date 100% of the time
  • Work closely with stakeholders to identify, develop, implement and support cost-effective project delivery
  • Supervise all subcontractor work quality and production levels to ensure the highest standards are achieved
  • Calculate and track all materials required for the project
  • Assess construction discrepancies and propose solutions to maintain a desired finished product
  • Track all extra work and process in accordance with contractual obligations
  • Oversee client requests and inspections to ensure satisfaction and completion in a timely manner
  • Coach and develop the skills of 5-10 team members on site
  • Resolve day-to-day field personnel issues
  • Achieve project schedule milestones, taking corrective action where necessary to meet key milestone dates
  • Participate in safety training and development initiatives as identified or requested
  • Communicate and administer all Safety policies and conduct site safety meetings
  • Inspect construction sites for potential hazards throughout the duration of the project
  • Maintain records of project progress and report to Project Manager

Requirements:

  • 2-5 years experience in a Foreman/Site Supervisor role preferred
  • Skilled in reading and reviewing blueprints/floor plans
  • Excellent communication skills; written and verbal
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills and ability to manage multiple projects
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with diverse groups of people
  • Post-secondary education (e.g., Construction Technology, Carpentry, Civil Engineering, etc.) preferred but not required
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License
