What does an Airport Security Specialist do?



  • Screen the traveling public and their belongings to ensure their safety and security.
  • Ensure non-permitted items do not enter the secure area, protecting the airport and its passengers from potential threats.
  • Control access to restricted areas, ensuring that only authorized personnel have access to sensitive information and secure locations.
  • Respond to alarms and report any events, illegal acts, or violations, providing timely and effective support to airport authorities.
  • Participate in emergency operations within the airport, working as part of a team to respond to crises and maintain the safety of travelers and airport staff.

Qualifications to become an Airport Security Specialist?



  • You must be a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident, with a genuine interest in working in a security role.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent (GED) is required, with a strong focus on education and personal development.
  • A clean criminal record and eligibility to obtain a RAIC (security clearance) are essential for this role, ensuring your suitability for sensitive work.
  • At 18 years of age or older, you must be physically capable of performing the duties of this role, with a strong commitment to your health and well-being.
  • Located near Moncton or willing to relocate before starting, you must be flexible and adaptable to meet the needs of the airport and our clients.
