Job Summary

The City of Windsor is seeking a highly skilled Crime Analyst to join our team. As a Crime Analyst, you will play a critical role in enhancing public safety by forecasting future criminal activity and providing data-driven insights to inform police resource allocation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze crime data and trends to identify patterns and areas of concern
  • Develop and maintain databases and data systems to support crime analysis
  • Provide detailed information and recommendations to support investigations and crime prevention efforts
  • Collaborate with police and community stakeholders to identify and address public safety concerns
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest research and developments in crime analysis and policing
Requirements
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in crime analysis
  • University degree or three-year community college diploma in a relevant field
  • Working knowledge of enterprise database structure
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and judgment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Courses and training in intelligence analysis processes, database management techniques, and research methodology
  • Experience with data analytics and visualization software
  • Experience with enterprise mapping software
  • Experience with police records management systems and computer-aided dispatch systems
  • Experience with police-specific investigative/analytical software
