Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Data Architect to join our team at PeopleToGo. This is a senior-level position that requires expertise in designing, developing, and implementing enterprise information management systems.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and practices, with hands-on experience on Informix database and other leading database management systems.

They will be responsible for analyzing, leading, participating, and advising on initiatives for modeling, developing, implementing, and optimizing enterprise information management systems.

This includes planning and coordinating data migrations between systems, developing data governance policies, procedures, tools, and best practices, and building a data foundation and integration layer.

The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience as an Informix Database Administrator, with significant leadership experience leading technical teams and producing technical documents.

Responsibilities
  • Install and configure various types of databases
  • Respond to and resolve database performance issues, including SQL statement tuning
  • Recommend optimizations and allocate physical data storage for database systems
  • Plan and coordinate data migrations between systems
  • Develop data governance policies, procedures, tools, and best practices
  • Build a data foundation and integration layer
  • Work with application development staff to develop database architectures, coding standards, and quality assurance policies and procedures
  • Provide guidance and training to members of the team
  • Develop a data/information roadmap
Requirements
  • Significant hands-on experience and specialized knowledge related to large and complex organizational databases and systems
  • Strong understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and practices
  • Hands-on database tuning and troubleshooting experience
  • Experience with data processing flowcharting techniques
  • Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines
  • Desire and ability to build high-quality, professional documentation
  • Ability to present findings and ideas to senior management in a clear and logical manner
  • Experience in researching and developing ideas for presentation to management
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work within a team environment but with a demonstrated history of being able to direct their own work and act independently
Preferred Skills
  • Zachman Enterprise Architecture (or similar accreditation)
  • Relevant engineering degree/designation/certification
  • Experience and understanding data flow in SOA
Salary Range

$140,000 - $180,000 per year
