RPMGlobal seeks a seasoned Design Release Engineer to lead the design and release of passive safety electrical systems and components. As part of our team, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional groups to drive innovation and deliver exceptional results.
Responsibilities:
- Drive the design and release process from inception to launch, focusing on passive safety electrical systems and components.
- Work with the supply base to implement and validate software, hardware, and diagnostics according to company guidelines.
- Interface with various stakeholders, including Electronic Component Groups, Suppliers, Purchasing, Quality, and Assembly Plants, to develop essential components.
- Oversee product performance to meet vehicle and component level targets for functionality, cost, and weight.
- Manage product release and change management processes, ensuring seamless execution.
- Develop software and hardware release timing for feature rollout and performance goal milestones, aligning with company objectives.
- Coordinate supplier and internal DVPR's, including tracking validation activities, defining countermeasures for issues and delays, and approving test results.
- Support AQP, PSO, product launch, and problem resolution during vehicle launch gates.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Automotive Engineering.
- Proven experience in design and release of automotive ECUs (electronic modules).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, requiring minimal supervision.
- Logical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and results-driven mindset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and/or Google Docs.
- Excellent program management and organizational skills.
