About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Vice President, Financial Planning and Analysis to join our finance team at mdf commerce. As a key member of our Executive Committee, you will be responsible for leading strategic initiatives and driving financial performance within the Finance team and across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Planning and Analysis: Provide value-added information and develop strategies to support profitable growth and value creation for the company.
  • Strategic Initiatives: Provide relevant metrics, financial tracking, and recommendations on strategic initiatives to ensure achievement of targeted results.
  • Annual Budget Process: Manage the annual budget process in close collaboration with Business Line Presidents and Shared Services VPs.
  • Financial Reporting: Oversee the production of monthly and quarterly trend and variance analysis reports in collaboration with Corporate Accounting.
  • Forecasting and Analysis: Lead monthly reviews of forecast updates, financial analysis, and key performance indicators (KPI) tracking with business lines and act as the primary liaison with their CFOs.
  • Presentations and Governance: Prepare presentations to the Board of Directors and Executive Team, and develop governance and oversee the KPI process under the responsibility of the function.
  • Team Development: Ensure the ongoing development of team members through coaching and be an ambassador of the company's values.
Requirements
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership skills, with a proven ability to lead people through change, and building excellent cross-functional teams.
  • Strategic Thinking: Proven strategic thinking and ability to balance multiple objectives and deadlines within the context of the big picture.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills and experience in modeling, delivery forecasting, budgeting, and scenario analysis.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills in French and English, both oral and written, due to frequent interactions with internal and external colleagues and partners.
  • Education and Experience: University degree in accounting or other relevant field, recognized professional designation (CPA) or equivalent, and at least 10 years' experience in financial modeling and budgeting.
