Project Engineer Job Description

Gelpac, a leading packaging company, is seeking a skilled Project Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for managing engineering projects and collaborating with various departments to design and implement innovative solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop innovative solutions using computer-aided design (CAD) tools.
  • Lead and manage projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and quality results.
  • Supervise internal resources and subcontractors assigned to projects, ensuring compliance with budgets and quality standards.
  • Establish and update project schedules, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.
  • Participate in the commissioning and configuration of various equipment installed, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance.
  • Organize launch, project follow-up, and post-mortem meetings to ensure effective communication and project closure.
  • Support other departments and act as a technical reference, providing expertise and guidance as needed.
  • Prepare and update documentation required for the proper operation of equipment, ensuring compliance with applicable standards, laws, and regulations.
Required Profile:
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or other relevant training.
  • Holder of a Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) license.
  • Relevant experience in Health and Safety and in a manufacturing environment is an asset.
  • Knowledge of CAD software, preferably SolidWorks.
  • Excellent knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Excellent communication skills and team spirit.
  • Outstanding planning and design skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Available to travel between sites and manage projects in different locations.
