Role Overview

The Senior Cloud Business Development Engineer plays a pivotal role in driving technical sales activity within Fortinet's direct sales organization. This position requires an exceptional blend of technical acumen, communication skills, and organizational prowess.

Responsibilities include working with the direct sales team to identify and qualify business opportunities, addressing customer technical objections, and developing technical strategies. Additionally, this role involves supporting the technical relationship with customers, coordinating additional resources, delivering demos, and recommending security best practices and cloud architectures.

Key Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience as a technical sales engineer in a cloud computing environment or equivalent
  • Proficiency in AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Presentation and demo delivery skills for executives, architects, and technical staff
  • Scripting and DevOps experience, including Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Puppet, Chef, or Ansible

Bonus Points:

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect or equivalent from Azure or GCP
  • Experience in cloud deployments, especially security and compliance requirements
  • Ability to quickly learn new emerging technologies, methodologies, and solutions in the cloud/IT space
