At TOPPERS TRUCKING, we are seeking a reliable Long Haul Truck Driver to join our team. As a Truck Driver, you will be responsible for driving a two-person team or convoy, loading and unloading goods, and ensuring the safe transportation of cargo across international routes.


The ideal candidate will possess a valid Driver's License (Class 1 or A) and an Air Brakes Endorsement. They will also be able to operate and drive straight or articulated trucks and oversee the condition of the vehicle.


A key aspect of this role is the ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills. The Truck Driver will be required to perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections, as well as oversee all aspects of the vehicle.

Responsibilities:



  • Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy
  • Load and unload goods
  • Obtain special permits and other documents required to transport cargo on international routes
  • Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
  • Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment
  • Perform brake adjustments
  • Perform emergency roadside repairs
  • Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle
  • Perform preventive maintenance
  • Receive and relay information to central dispatch
  • Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption
  • Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo

Requirements:



  • Air Brakes Endorsement
  • Driver's License (Class 1 or A)
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills
  • Flexibility to work cross-border and extended periods
  • Physical ability to handle heavy loads and work in a physically demanding environment
  • Reliability and punctuality
  • Willingness to travel overnight
