Early Childhood Educator Assistant

As a childcare support specialist, you will play a vital role in the development and well-being of young children. Your responsibilities will include assisting educators in implementing programs for overall child development, facilitating various activities, and preparing snacks. You will also be responsible for setting up rooms and furniture for lunch and naps, helping children develop good eating, toileting, and dressing habits, and ensuring the maintenance of daycare equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Support educators in implementing programs for overall child development;
  • Facilitate various activities;
  • Prepare and serve snacks;
  • Set up rooms and furniture for lunch and naps;
  • Help children develop good eating, toileting, and dressing habits;
  • Ensure the maintenance of daycare equipment;
  • Discuss children's progress and challenges with other staff;
  • May assist educators and supervisors with record keeping;
  • All other related tasks related to early childhood.

Requirements

  • Fluency in English and French, both oral and written, and a third language, an asset: Portuguese, Mandarin, or Spanish;
  • Flexibility in terms of schedules;
  • Interest in working with children.

This role involves interaction with internal and external clients and partners on a national and global scale. Professional proficiency in English is therefore a requirement for this role.
