Overview

Fraser Health is seeking a skilled Pediatrician to join our team at Chilliwack General Hospital. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced pediatrician to expand our community-based pediatric practice and contribute to the delivery of high-quality pediatric care.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive pediatric care to children from birth to 19 years old, with a focus on general pediatric medical problems, social and developmental issues, behavior and mental health concerns, learning difficulties, and school issues.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Provide acute pediatric services, including consultations, assessments, and treatments for children in the Emergency Room and the Pediatric Observation Unit.
  2. Attend high-risk deliveries and provide post-delivery care for newborns.
  3. Contribute to the development of a holistic, multidisciplinary pediatric service, including outreach clinics and multidisciplinary child development clinics.
  4. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to children and families.
  5. Participate in education and training programs to enhance skills and knowledge.

Requirements and Qualifications

To be considered for this role, applicants must have:

  • A medical degree and a Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCPC) in Pediatrics.
  • Current certification with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC).
  • Valid registration with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
