Key Responsibilities

As a Principal Architect at Canadian Tire Corporation, you will play a vital role in ensuring seamless data integration, enhancing operational efficiency, and enabling data-driven decision-making. Your expertise will be crucial in future-proofing our organization's data infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Developing integration strategies and plans in collaboration with stakeholders to meet business requirements and existing system landscapes.
  • Designing and architecting integration solutions that incorporate data streaming capabilities, analyzing business requirements, and understanding the existing system landscape.
  • Configuring and managing middleware platforms, including application servers, message brokers, ESBs, and API gateways, to ensure high availability and performance.
  • Implementing security and compliance measures to ensure the integrity of data exchanged between systems.
  • Analyzing system performance metrics and optimizing configurations to enhance overall system performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience as an Integration Architect or in a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of integration and event streaming concepts, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Experience with event streaming technologies such as Apache Kafka, Apache Flink, or Azure Eventhubs.
  • Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience of how to leverage cloud services for event streaming architectures.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proactive and action-oriented, willing to work with stakeholders to isolate problems and help develop solutions.
  • Team player with a willingness to listen, collaborate, and work in a group setting to solve challenging problems.
  • Value progress over perfection, using a growth mindset to continuously aim to help grow the business.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
