About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Apprentice Carpenter to join our team at Appenzell Construction Inc. as a key member of our construction and renovation team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation of layouts and designs for construction projects, ensuring compliance with building codes and regulations.
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join various materials, including wood, wood substitutes, and lightweight steel, to create high-quality structures.
  • Build and install foundations, floor beams, subflooring, walls, and roof systems, ensuring precision and attention to detail.
  • Fabricate and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware, maintaining a high level of craftsmanship.
  • Participate in the maintenance, repair, and renovation of residential and commercial properties, including wooden structures in various settings.
Apprenticeship Training

As an Apprentice Carpenter, you will have the opportunity to participate in level one, two, three, and four apprenticeship training programs, developing your skills and knowledge in carpentry and construction.

Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in carpentry or a related field
  • Excellent physical fitness and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to lift heavy loads and work at heights
