Job Title: Halfway House Worker

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Halfway House Worker to join our team at the John Howard Society. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals in their transition back into the community.

Job Summary:

The Halfway House Worker will provide support and guidance to residents in a halfway house setting, helping them to develop life skills, manage their behavior, and achieve their goals. This is a challenging yet rewarding role that requires a strong commitment to supporting individuals in need.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individual and group support to residents, helping them to develop life skills and manage their behavior.
  • Assist residents with daily living tasks, such as food preparation and housekeeping.
  • Implement life skills workshops and programs to help residents develop essential skills.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support to residents in times of need.
  • Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure the smooth operation of the halfway house.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, as required.
Requirements:
  • College/CEGEP diploma in a related field (e.g. social work, psychology, counseling).
  • Experience working with individuals in a residential setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Basic security clearance and enhanced reliability security clearance.
