Plant Operations Technician

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a variety of equipment and machinery, including mixers, saws, pullers, precision bearings, gear-boxes, clutches, motors, shafts, sprockets, chains, conveyors, etc.

About the Role

As a Maintenance Mechanic (Millwright), you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing processes by regularly inspecting, repairing, modifying, and maintaining equipment and machinery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintenance and Repair: Perform preventative maintenance and repairs to machinery and plant support systems with regards to mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic problems.
  • Inventory Management: Manage inventory of spare parts and supplies to minimize downtime.
  • Cleaning and Lubrication: Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on machinery.
  • Machine Tool Operation: Operate machine tools such as lathes and grinders to fabricate parts required during overhauls, maintenance, or set-up of machinery.
  • Fabrication and Assembly: Fabricate custom parts, fixtures, and guarding by means of arc welding, grinding, oxyacetylene cutting and assemble and install machinery and equipment.
  • Troubleshooting and Repair: Troubleshoot and repair machinery and equipment in breakdown situations to ensure production requirements are met.
Requirements
  • Licensure and Certification: Must be a valid Maintenance Millwright who is fully licensed/certified in the Province of Ontario.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
  • Reliability and Punctuality: Reliable, punctual, and health-safety-environment conscious.
  • Availability: Must be available to work shifts and overtime.
  • Operating Skills: Ability to operate forklifts and aerial lifts.
  • Machine Shop Practices: Strong familiarity with machine shop practices (lathe & milling machines); use of power tools.
