Job Summary

Propak is seeking a highly skilled Automation Specialist to join our team. As an Automation Specialist, you will be responsible for assisting with the programming and configuration of control systems, as well as supporting the commissioning of various control systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the programming and configuration of PLC, HMI, SCADA, DCS, and RTU systems for the energy industry.
  • Support the commissioning of control systems, including testing and confirming functionality of electrical equipment and instrumentation.
  • Participate in reviewing and modifying electrical schematics, P&IDs, cause and effect diagrams, and critical setting documents.
  • Complete and distribute quality control documentation and support data entry using Microsoft Access, Excel, and Word applications.
  • Conduct Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), Hardware Acceptance Tests (HAT), and Communication Acceptance Tests (CAT) on control systems and associated equipment.

Requirements

  • Candidates must be either a recent graduate or an upcoming graduate from an accredited program in Electrical, Instrumentation, or Mechatronics Engineering Diploma or Degree program.
  • APPEGA or ASET membership is an asset.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Programming experience with PLC/DCS/HMI control systems.
  • Programming experience with Allen Bradley FactoryTalk ME/SE and Studio5000.
  • Experience with P&IDs, cause and effect diagrams, and shutdown keys.
  • Experience with reviewing and modifying electrical schematics.
  • Calibration and testing experience with instrumentation and electrical components.
  • Experience with Visual Basic for Applications and Python.
