Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Area Manager to lead our multifamily residential portfolio in the Ottawa Region. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the daily operation of a portfolio of properties, including managing site staff, troubleshooting operational issues, and communicating solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage assigned portfolio of buildings to improve efficiency and reduce operating costs
  • Foster positive tenant relations and implement effective marketing strategies to minimize vacancy rates and maximize revenue
  • Provide coaching and support to site-level staff regarding tenant-related issues
  • Prepare monthly financial accounting, reporting, and explanation of variances
  • Oversee rent collection policies and implementation of collection programs
  • Assist in the recruitment process for individual properties
  • Evaluate economic trends, profitability, and marketing issues
  • Ensure corporate compliance with RTB regulations in all areas
  • Represent the company at RTB hearings
  • Assist the Regional Manager with special projects or other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in an operations management role specializing in sales and leadership
  • Strong background in sales and customer service
  • Proven ability to manage performance and provide feedback and coaching
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills
  • Demonstrated team leadership and collaboration skills
  • Knowledge of cost analysis, fiscal management, and budgeting techniques
  • Ability to work and act independently using good judgment when assessing difficult situations
  • Demonstrated ability to be proactive, take initiative, and remain calm in high-pressure situations
  • Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle to be able to travel between sites
