The Role

Veeva OpenData plays a vital role in the life sciences industry by providing real-time reference data across the complete healthcare ecosystem, facilitating commercial sales execution, compliance, and business analytics.

As a Senior QA Engineer in Opendata, you will lead the effort in building the QA framework from the ground up and overseeing the overall QA of the Data Platform for Opendata. End-to-end ownership empowers you to determine the correct course of action, conduct thorough due diligence, and execute solutions in your creative way.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Define project scope, expected outcomes, data models, and relevant business rules
  • Create test cases for applications utilizing ETL components
  • Identify key ETL mapping scenarios and develop SQL queries to simulate them
  • Automate ETL test cases where possible
  • Verify data accuracy and completeness
  • Examine data source locations and formats, perform data counts, and ensure columns and data types meet requirements
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in ETL Testing
  • Experience creating test cases for applications using ETL components
  • Expertise in analyzing ETL mapping documents
  • Proficiency in writing advanced SQL queries
  • Understanding of data flow between systems and their data models
  • Experience with Cloud infrastructure platforms like AWS
  • Must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience automating features for better regression coverage
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proven experience working and delivering in an Agile environment
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science/engineering or equivalent
  • Familiarity with object-oriented programming and scripting languages like Java, Python
Nice to Have:
  • Hands-on experience with DevOps tools and CI/CD
  • Experience with PySpark
  • Previous experience in the Life Sciences sector
Compensation and Benefits:

Veeva Systems, Inc. offers a competitive compensation package, including medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance, PTO, company-paid holidays, retirement programs, and 1% charitable giving program.

The estimated annual salary range for this role is $120,000 - $220,000 CAD.
