Job Description:

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Executive Leader to join our team in Sturgeon County, Alberta. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading economic development initiatives and driving growth in rural communities.

About the Role:

  • Lead the development and implementation of strategic plans to drive economic growth and diversification in Sturgeon County.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders, including municipal officials, business leaders, and community organizations, to promote economic development initiatives.
  • Develop and manage relationships with investors, businesses, and other stakeholders to attract new investment and create jobs.
  • Provide leadership and direction to a team of professionals responsible for economic development, tourism, and planning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive strategic plans to drive economic growth and diversification in Sturgeon County.
  • Economic Development: Identify and pursue opportunities for economic development, including attracting new businesses, creating jobs, and promoting entrepreneurship.
  • Tourism: Develop and implement strategies to promote tourism in Sturgeon County, including marketing campaigns and partnerships with local businesses.
  • Leadership: Provide leadership and direction to a team of professionals responsible for economic development, tourism, and planning.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in a senior leadership role, preferably in economic development or a related field.
  • Demonstrated expertise in strategic planning, economic development, and leadership.
  • Strong network of contacts within the business community and government agencies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in a related field (e.g., economics, business administration, urban planning).
  • Certification in economic development or a related field.
  • Experience working in a rural or regional context.

Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience.
