Vice Chancellor

Athabasca University seeks a highly qualified individual to fill the position of Provost, leading the institution's academic affairs and overseeing its strategic growth. Located in various locations across Alberta, including Athabasca and Edmonton, this role offers an exciting opportunity for individuals with a strong background in education leadership.

• Provide strategic leadership and vision for the university's academic programs and services.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures to support faculty and staff in their roles.
• Oversee the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of new employees.

• Doctorate degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in education leadership or a related field.
• Proven track record of success in leading teams and driving change initiatives.

The salary range for this position is $250,000 to $310,000 annually, commensurate with experience. Additionally, the university offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision coverage, as well as a pension plan and life insurance.

This is a full-time, term contract position lasting approximately 4 years, with the possibility of extension. The start date will be April 1, 2025.

Candidates must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents, or have a valid work permit. Preference will be given to candidates with a strong understanding of the post-secondary education sector and its challenges.
