Key Responsibilities
  • Install and repair domestic, commercial, or industrial plumbing fixtures and systems
  • Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout of plumbing systems, water supply networks, and waste and drainage systems
  • Prepare tenders and quotations for plumbing projects
  • Instruct apprentices and train new staff members
  • Locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes, and fixtures in walls and floors
  • Cut openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipes and pipe fittings
  • Join pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, or soldering, brazing, and welding equipment
  • Schedule personnel, tools, and equipment for plumbing projects
  • Test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges
  • Determine piping system requirements and pipe sizing
  • Estimate costs and materials for plumbing projects
  • Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes to the required shape and size
Requirements
  • Plumber Trade Certification
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Driver's License (Class 3 or D)
