About the Role

Marshall Canada is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Ottawa, ON. As a key member of our Engineering team, you will be responsible for providing design engineering services to support Land projects, working closely with our Engineering Manager – Mechanical.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement Systems and Mechanical Engineering solutions across the Marshall Engineering function.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver complex projects, ensuring timely and budget-friendly results.
  • Apply best practices in Systems and Mechanical Engineering to drive innovation and improve engineering quality, productivity, and timeliness of delivery.
  • Support the development and maintenance of the Marshall Business Management System (BMS) procedures.
  • Work effectively across the matrix to deliver bottom-line performance collaboratively.
  • Design and develop products that meet all statutory requirements, ensuring safety and quality standards are met.
  • Produce and check drawings and Item lists, ensuring accuracy and compliance with department processes.
  • Maintain a current and up-to-date knowledge of developments in existing and new products to recommend innovations.
  • Control product, build standard, drawing, and document configuration control.
  • Support various design review meetings and creation of redlines or other design change management processes.
  • Provide technical guidance to and oversee a small number of engineers when Project needs arise.
Requirements
  • Qualified to degree level in Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics from an accredited university with relevant experience in the field.
  • Domain experience in mechanical engineering with Modular Shelter based products preferred.
  • Minimum five years of experience in aircraft or land design with structural and/or analysis experience preferred.
  • Effective time management and ability to deliver multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong understanding of product safety, standards, and rugged environments.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to plan and stay to schedule and budget.
  • Proficient with Autodesk Inventor and Windchill PLM.
  • Microsoft Software including Word and Excel.
  • Broad understanding of manufacturing techniques including sheet metal fabrication, riveting, bonding, and welding.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in written and oral English.
