The Old York Tavern seeks a motivated and reliable Cook to join our team.

We offer a unique dining experience with French and American brasserie influence, serving lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch services.

As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality menu items while maintaining a clean and organized workspace.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and presentation guidelines
  • Maintain a safe and efficient workstation
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service
  • Follow food safety standards at all times
  • Assist with daily prep work and stock rotation
  • Communicate effectively with the team to address any issues or shortages
  • Contribute to a positive kitchen atmosphere

Requirements:

  • Previous kitchen experience as a line cook or prep cook preferred
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and kitchen hygiene
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and stand for extended periods
