About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Kitchen Helper to join our team at The Good Samaritan Society. As a Kitchen Helper, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen, providing excellent service to our residents and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation and serving of meals, including cleaning and sanitizing dishes, utensils, and equipment.
  • Help maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, including sweeping, mopping, and polishing floors.
  • Support the kitchen team in food preparation, including washing, peeling, and cutting vegetables and fruits.
  • Operate dishwashers and other kitchen equipment as needed.
  • Assist with inventory management and ordering of supplies.
  • Participate in cleaning and sanitizing of kitchen areas, including work surfaces, cupboards, and storage areas.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment an asset.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a high level of productivity.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for long periods.
