Job Summary

We're seeking a Senior Financial Business Analyst to join our Finance team. This key role will support the Finance Manager in preparing budgets, forecasts, and annual audit documents. The incumbent will complete monthly financial analyses and reconciliations while ensuring accurate intercompany and tax-related reporting.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Prepare monthly financial packages and supporting schedules, including major balance sheet accounts reconciliations.
  • Support month-end close, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  • Assist with preparation of monthly/annual financial reports and analysis.
  • Conduct various financial analysis related to ongoing financial operations of the organization.
  • Facilitate and complete year-end close procedures and assist with other statutory audits as required.
  • Assist in year-end close process, including liaison and preparation of audit schedules and working papers, responding to audit queries, and assisting in GAAP presentation.
  • Work with Finance Manager to design, develop, and implement effective internal controls over financial reporting in compliance with internal and external financial policies and regulations. Ensure proper documentation is in place.
  • Assist in development and automation of monthly reporting using Business Intelligence tools.
  • Develop relationships with internal and external customers and work to exceed customer expectations for reporting and analysis.
  • Assist with annual budget and quarterly forecasting initiatives including conducting meetings with operational teams to explain results and cost reduction analysis as necessary.
Requirements:
  • Relevant degree and 3 years postgraduate experience in a similar capacity.
  • Enrollment in CPA PEP is preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience with general ledger functions and the month-end close process.
  • Hands-on experience with medium to large size ERP accounting system utilizing a multi-company, multi-department, multi-currency hierarchy. (Infor Lawson would be an asset but not a requirement).
  • Knowledge of the retail industry is an asset.
  • Intermediate to advanced MS Excel skills including VLOOKUP and pivot tables and Business Intelligence tools (Crystal Reports, Power BI or similar).
