Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join our team at Linamar Corporation. As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing engineering projects from initiation to completion, ensuring that they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering and project management, with a minimum of three years of experience in a high-volume environment. You will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing projects, ensuring that organization standards, procedures, and work processes are followed. You will also be responsible for the quality and consistency of all projects and ensuring full compliance with all codes, standards, and regulations, as well as client requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and direct engineering projects from initiation to completion.
  • Ensure that organization standards, procedures, and work processes are followed.
  • Responsible for the quality and consistency of all projects.
  • Ensure full compliance with all codes, standards, and regulations, as well as client requirements.
  • Work with other engineering departments and coordinate their specialized contributions to the development of the project.
  • Track data for performance and maintenance parameters using maintenance tracking programs.
  • Determine which materials and equipment to use for projects and decide the appropriate codes and standards to apply.
  • Interact with supervisors or managers for advice and direction, to discuss work and provide updates.
  • Coordinate and integrate work within teams of engineers and technicians to work on common projects.

Requirements

  • Graduate of mechanical and/or industrial engineering from a recognized University or equivalent.
  • Minimum of three years machine shop experience, preferably in a high-volume environment.
  • Experience in robotic automation, mechatronics an asset.
  • Knowledge of SPC methods, process and machine capability requirements, and lot control techniques.
  • Knowledge of LPS and LPS tools, TS 16949 and related procedures.
  • Experience with the use of statistical analysis software and computer-assisted design, manufacturing and machining.
