Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the cleanliness and organization of all kitchen areas, including the stewarding kitchen, to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Operate and maintain kitchen equipment, including dishwashers and other machinery, to ensure optimal performance and hygiene standards.
  • Assist with food preparation and presentation, including plating and garnishing dishes to meet guest expectations.
  • Work collaboratively with the culinary team to maintain high standards of food safety and quality control.
  • Contribute to the efficient operation of the kitchen by assisting with tasks such as food storage, inventory management, and waste reduction.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance your skills and knowledge in kitchen operations and food safety.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment, preferably in a hospitality setting.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods, with frequent bending and reaching.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in a related field an asset.
