Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Occupational Therapist to join our Maternal & Child Program in the Paediatric Outpatient Clinic. As a key member of our team, you will provide evaluation and treatment services to children with feeding challenges, utilizing various frames of reference and models of practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate children 0-10 years of age with various oral-motor, sensory, and behavioral challenges impacting feeding skills and food intake.
  • Provide ongoing consultation and direct treatment services to improve feeding skills and developmental outcomes.
  • Maintain clinical records, including online documentation of assessment reports and progress notes.
  • Participate in Professional Practice Council meetings and activities.
  • Adhere to professional codes of ethics and standards of practice.
  • Promote family-centered care philosophy.

Requirements

  • Masters degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited post-secondary institution.
  • Member in good standing of the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO) and membership in either CAOT or OSOT.
  • Experience in supporting feeding challenges in premature infants in the NICU, with opportunity for off-site mentoring and training.
  • Minimum 2 years working in an outpatient feeding clinic environment.
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development in infant and paediatric/neonatal feeding, feeding issues related to autism, and sensory processing.
  • Knowledge and experience applying various paediatric OT frames of reference.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent time management and organization skills.
