We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Warehouse General Maintenance Laborer to join our team. As a key member of our warehouse operations, you will be responsible for maintaining and operating equipment, performing general building maintenance, and ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Maintain and operate battery changing stations, including removal and replacement of lift batteries
- Operate floor sweepers and scrubbers to maintain facility floors
- Perform general building maintenance, including plumbing, carpentry, and painting
- Dispose of hazardous materials in accordance with established OSHA and Wayfair safety policies and procedures
- Empty trash as directed
- Conduct daily and weekly preventative maintenance and complete daily log sheets
- Perform pre-operation checklists and verify all safety devices are functional at all times
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- Complete work orders, records, logs, and other written or computer-based documents
- Perform other job-related duties as directed by Manager/Supervisor
- High school diploma or equivalent is a plus
- Strong mechanical aptitude and basic carpentry and maintenance experience, including carpentry, painting, and plumbing
- Experience safely using warehouse equipment, such as order pickers, pallet jacks, forklifts, and aerial lifts
- Proficient in using hand and power tools and computers to perform required duties
- Previous battery charger/changer experience is a plus
- Must be flexible on working hours and willing to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime
- Ability to regularly bend, lift, stretch, crawl, and reach, engage in full manual dexterity in both hands and wrists, and stand and walk for long periods
- Must be comfortable repeatedly lifting up to 75 pounds unassisted
- Ability to access all areas of the building by climbing ladders and gangways safely and without limitation
- Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment that can be noisy and unlit
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and guidelines
- Ability to work independently, as part of a team, and take direction
- Must be a safety-conscious, motivated, detail-oriented, self-starter with a positive attitude
