Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and innovative leader to join our team as our Director of Innovation and Product Development. As a key member of our Technical Design team, you will be responsible for leading the development of new products and processes, ensuring they meet our high standards for quality and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the R&D function, responsible for commercializing new products and processes, providing technical support to manufacturing, and leading continues improvement projects.
- Develop and maintain a culture of cross-functional collaboration, innovation, and technical curiosity, promoting a culture of calculated risk-taking and creativity.
- Provide technical guidance and support to the Technical Innovation Team, ensuring they have the necessary resources and tools to succeed.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to identify opportunities for product innovation and improvement.
- Develop and maintain project records, documenting successes and failures to inform future product development.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in the food industry, particularly in the snack category.
- Identify opportunities to enhance existing products, considering factors such as taste, texture, nutrition, quality, cost, yield, and convenience.
- Serve as a technical advisor to internal and external partners, providing insights and solutions based on the latest food technology and trends.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in leadership roles in Research & Development, preferably in the CPG industry.
- Undergraduate degree in Food Science, Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, or a related field.
- Experience in manufacturing, quality, or other technical functions is an asset.
