Job Summary
The General Manager will lead the establishment and execution of strategic initiatives to improve site performance. This includes managing hourly and salaried operations, continuous improvement, and fostering a productive, safe, and professional work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead cross-functional teams and create alignment between commercial, engineering, operations, maintenance, and EHS functions.
- Provide leadership, direction, and resources to departments to develop operational controls and problem-solve around issues.
- Ensure medium-term production/quality safety and environmental results align with business plans.
- Provide work direction to the team and timely, constructive feedback to ensure employees understand their work, roles, business goals, and performance standards.
- Develop and coach employees to retain and grow organizational talent and support employees in their career development.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering Discipline.
- 10+ years of Operations experience, including underground mining experience leading a union workforce.
- Progressive leadership experience within mining, managing both salaried and union employees across cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated experience promoting safety and continuous improvement.
- Strong business acumen in managing operating budget, capital projects, and developing overall business strategy.
