Cleaning Supervisor Job Description

JUST GEORGE CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE INC. is seeking a highly skilled Cleaning Supervisor to join our team. As a Cleaning Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the cleaning operations of our facilities, ensuring that they are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and safety.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Hire and train or arrange for training of cleaning staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Supervise and co-ordinate activities of workers to ensure that cleaning tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
  • Inspect sites or facilities to ensure safety and cleanliness standards are met, identifying any areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  • Prepare budget and cost estimates for cleaning services, ensuring that costs are managed effectively and that services are delivered within budget.
  • Recommend or arrange for additional services required, such as painting, repair work, renovations or replacement of furnishings and equipment, to maintain the facilities to a high standard.
  • Receive payment for specialized cleaning jobs, ensuring that all financial transactions are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Assist cleaners in performing duties, providing guidance and support as needed to ensure that tasks are completed to a high standard.
  • Co-ordinate work activities with other departments, ensuring that cleaning services are integrated with other operational activities.
  • Establish work schedules, ensuring that cleaning tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
Requirements:
  • 3-4 years of experience in a supervisory role, preferably in a cleaning or maintenance environment.
  • Specialized cleaners with experience in cleaning and maintenance operations.
  • Bondable, with a strong commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines, managing multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Physically demanding role, requiring the ability to lift, bend and stand for long periods.
  • Dependable, with a strong sense of initiative and judgement, able to make decisions and take action as needed.
  • Reliable, with a strong commitment to maintaining a high level of quality and service.
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a cleaning or maintenance environment, with a strong understanding of cleaning and maintenance operations.
