Job Summary:

Northern College of Applied Arts and Technology is seeking a highly skilled Veterinary Technician - Kennel Duty to join our team in the Veterinary Sciences department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional animal care and support to our students and faculty.

Key Responsibilities:

• Alternate weekends and weekday afternoon shifts, overseeing the care of colony animals for the Veterinary Science programs and students doing kennel duty.
• Ensure students are following proper protocols, rules, and safe processes for animal care, including medication administration, feeding, cleaning, and medical care.
• Assist the veterinarian with vaccine administration and medical care, maintaining accurate animal care records.
• Perform light cleaning duties and maintain a clean and safe environment for animals and staff.

Requirements:

• 2-year diploma from a Veterinary Sciences Technician program, preferably with membership in good standing with the Ontario Association of Veterinary Technicians (RVT).
• Minimum 2 years of practical experience working as a team member in a veterinary hospital setting, with professional-level communication and animal care skills.
