Responsibilities

- Reviewing claims forms, policies, client instructions, and other documents to determine coverage
- Applying sound adjusting techniques to assess loss amounts as per policy terms
- Investigating causes, circumstances, and damage extent through site visits and document analysis
- Interacting with claimants, witnesses, and insurers to clarify information
- Maintaining accurate records and responding to stakeholder inquiries in a professional manner
- Collaborating with insured parties, brokers, experts, and regulators to manage claims efficiently
- Assisting in preparing loss experience reports for profitability assessment and rate determination
- Preparing reports from our proprietary claims system for clients, governments, and McLarens
- Overseeing the management of an assisting team or individual adjusters
- Recommending litigation or subrogation when appropriate
- Developing accounts and maintaining necessary licenses as required by provincial regulators
- Performing duties instructed by the Director of Operations (DOO)
- Five to eight years of commercial property and general liability claims experience
- Post-secondary degree (College or University)
- Industry-specific designation (CIP, FCIP, CRM)
- Knowledge of local jurisdictional requirements and claim practices
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and analytical abilities
- Ability to plan and prioritize tasks effectively
