ANDRITZ Hydro Canada is a leading international technology group with a strong portfolio of sustainable products and solutions. As a Project Planner, you will contribute to the development of innovative hydroelectric technology, ensuring a clean future and maintaining Canadian expertise.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will have industrial construction experience and scheduling expertise in Primavera P6. They will ensure schedules align with company and industry standards, are complete, and meet business objectives. Experience in large hydro, industrial, or construction projects is an asset.
Principal Duties
- Align project schedule and project execution plans
- Interface with project team, construction management, and business personnel to develop strong baseline EPC schedules
- Assist in developing option analysis and strategies for project scope and execution plans
- Perform schedule risk analysis with the project team
- Develop and maintain project schedules with the project team
- Ensure proper integration of all project schedules (L1 to L4)
- Perform impact analysis of delays and accelerations and critical third-party interfaces
- Define critical and sub-critical path activities and communicate them to the project team
- Develop and maintain other schedules as deemed necessary by the project team, milestone schedules, manpower curve, mobilization plans, etc.
- Collect progress updates, apply progress to schedules, re-forecast resource requirements, and achieve milestones
- Liaise with the project team to generate EVM metrics
- Review manpower planning
- Ensure all schedules follow written scheduling procedures, including quality standards and best practices
- Improve global scheduling processes and standards to ensure data integrity and quality output
- Issue various project reports, such as dashboards, customer progress reports, and other monthly and quarterly reporting as needed
- Promote the value of scheduling to the project teams, strive for schedule integrity, and influence decisions and outcomes related to project management
- Support the growth and development of the scheduling and project controls functions
- Visit project construction sites for closer collaboration with site managers and personnel and to audit field progress as required
Competencies and Skills
Required:
- Three to five years of scheduling experience in an enterprise application (Primavera P6)
- Three to five years of experience in managing schedules for large industrial/construction projects
- Bilingual, French and English, spoken and written
- Ability to organize, coordinate, lead
- Strong analytics skills to evaluate complex data sets and resolve issues
- Ability to clearly communicate, deliver presentations, simplify, explain variances and issues to a team and propose solutions
An asset:
- Experience in managing schedules for large industrial/construction projects
- Project scheduling experience in hydroelectric turbines
- Construction/field experience
- Experience working in Excel and Power BI
