Environmental Response Driver

GFL Environmental is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Environmental Response Driver to join our Emergency Response Unit in Kitchener, ON. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for transporting, removing, delivering, and collecting various liquid and solid hazardous wastes from customer sites.
Key Responsibilities:- Respond to environmental and industrial spills, clandestine laboratory decommissioning, highway incidents, train derailments, and marine operations.
- Operate a variety of trucks and equipment, including vacuum trucks, box trucks, and other equipment as required.
- Load and unload trucks, and perform routine vehicle maintenance.
- Work alongside police, fire, EMS, Environment Canada, and other stakeholders to ensure safe and efficient responses.
- Participate in job-specific and health & safety training as required.
- Complete work-related documentation and reporting.
- Follow all established organizational policies and procedures.
- Valid DZ license with a suitable driver's abstract.
- Overtime as required.
- Weekend work may be required, depending on business needs.
- On-call work availability for emergency responses.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to perform routine vehicle maintenance.
- Demonstrated organizational skills with strong oral and written communication abilities.
- Exceptional organizational abilities with task prioritization, multi-tasking, and time management techniques.
- High level of personal integrity.
- Strong work ethic.
- Professional/mature demeanor under stressful situations.
