Our fleet of 20 aircraft, comprising over 10 different types, serves as our primary teaching aid. This diverse range enables us to demonstrate the unique characteristics of each aircraft type, from military jet trainers to single and twin-piston planes, large amphibious aircraft, helicopters, and simulators.
To maintain our position at the forefront of aviation technology and flight-test methods, we continually enhance and update our fleet. Our modification projects span avionics upgrades, full-aircraft data sensor installations, and extensive modifications affecting operational and flying characteristics. The environment is collaborative and hands-on, with practical, multi-disciplinary work focused on specific missions.
Job Description
We seek a skilled Aircraft Paint Specialist who shares our passion for precision and quality. Whether you have experience in automotive or aircraft painting, this role offers both challenges and rewards. As part of our dynamic team, you will be involved in critical projects enhancing the appearance and functionality of our diverse fleet.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare aircraft surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, masking, and priming.
- Apply paint and coatings using various techniques such as spraying, brushing, and rolling to ensure high-quality finishes.
- Mix and match paints according to specifications, maintaining consistency in color and texture.
- Inspect completed work for quality and adherence to specifications, making necessary adjustments or corrections as needed.
- Collaborate with other team members to coordinate painting schedules and ensure timely project completion.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace adhering to safety protocols and environmental regulations.
- Document work processes and materials used, keeping accurate records for each project.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Experience in automotive painting with knowledge of various techniques and tools.
- Familiarity with aircraft painting processes and materials is an asset but not required.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team with excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Good physical stamina and ability to work in various positions including standing, bending, and lifting.
- Understanding of safety protocols and ability to follow them diligently.
- Willingness to work on a contract basis with potential extension based on project needs.
- Experience with painting military jet trainers like the L-39 or similar aircraft is a plus.
