Farm Labourer Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Farm Labourer to join our team at St. Soldier Farms Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to farm operations, including clearing and collecting brush and debris, clearing fields of wood and stones, and developing and guiding the behavior of farm animals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Clear and collect brush and debris from fields, pens, and other work areas
  • Clear fields of wood and stones
  • Develop and guide the behavior of farm animals
  • Grade vegetables and fruits into different grades according to size, shape, color, and volume
  • Organize tasks to accomplish work
  • Perform livestock feeding
  • Perform pig littering activities such as clipping needle teeth, docking tails, administering iron and other medication, identification of piglets, and castration
  • Plant, cultivate, and irrigate crops
  • Prepare cattle for exhibition
  • Assist in the development and implementation of farm safety and bio-security procedures
  • Provide agricultural crop services such as plowing, irrigating, cultivating, spraying, or harvesting
  • Coordinate and supervise the work of general farm workers and harvesting laborers
  • Ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed
  • Detect disease and health problems in crops, livestock, and poultry
  • Set and monitor water lines, air flow, and temperature in barns, pens, and chicken coops

Requirements:

  • 1 to less than 7 months of experience
  • Permanent employment
  • English language proficiency
  • 30 hours per week
