We are seeking two permanent full-time General Ophthalmologists to join our team at Saskdocs.
Job SummaryThe successful candidates will provide surgical, inpatient, and emergency services at the Yorkton Regional Health Center. They will also be responsible for private out-patient practice and may be required to provide itinerant ophthalmology services throughout the southeast area of the province.
Key Responsibilities- Provide high-quality patient care and treatment
- Perform surgical procedures and emergency services
- Conduct inpatient and outpatient consultations
- Participate in itinerant ophthalmology services as required
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care
Candidates must be certified or eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC). They must also register with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan (CPSS) and be licensed to practice medicine in Saskatchewan. Additionally, they must maintain membership and insurance with the Canadian Medical Protective Association and be legally entitled to work in Canada.
BenefitsThe successful applicant may be eligible for the Specialist Recruitment Incentive offered through the Saskatchewan Medical Association. This incentive provides financial support to eligible specialists who establish a practice in a Saskatchewan community for a minimum of 36 months. Equipment funding and Residency/Fellowship Training funding may also be available through the Hospital Foundation of South Central Saskatchewan in exchange for a Return for Service.
Work EnvironmentThe City of Yorkton is a vibrant community with a population of approximately 20,000 people. The referral population for our specialty services is around 100,000, extending across the Manitoba border. Our team is committed to providing high-quality patient care and working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.
