We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Early Childhood Educator to join our team at YMCA Calgary. As a key member of our childcare staff, you will play a vital role in providing a safe and nurturing environment for children aged 12 months to 6 years.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement a diverse and developmentally appropriate program that reflects the centre's Program Plan and includes the implementation of the YMCA Playing to Learn curriculum and supervision practices.
- Utilize established communication strategies for both internal and external stakeholders to ensure operational effectiveness.
- Collaborate with colleagues to manage centre operations, including adapting your work schedule to meet area needs.
- Consistently deliver high-quality childcare services, including accompanying and actively engaging with children during all activities and supporting personal care needs.
- Demonstrate safe practices and act promptly on all health and safety risks and concerns, effectively managing emergency situations as per YMCA procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe indoor and outdoor environment, adhering to established procedures identified by YMCA Calgary, Calgary Fire Department, Alberta Health Services, and Provincial Child Care Licensing Act and Early Learning and Child Care Regulations.
- Engage in centre, facility, and association events, happenings, and initiatives.
- Alberta Early Childhood Educator Certification – Level 1, 2, or 3.
- Experience working with children aged 12 months to 6 years in a licensed child care setting.
- A positive attitude and collaborative teamwork approach.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including basic computer literacy.
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR C certification (CPR recertified within the last 12 months).
- Evidence of a clear Police Information Check and Vulnerable Sector Search.
- Three professional references.
