Job Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Vice President, Freight Brokerage and Logistics to join our team at J.D. Irving, Limited. As a key member of our executive team, you will be responsible for overseeing our freight brokerage and 3PL services, working closely with our sales team and clients to identify new business opportunities and drive strategic growth and expansion.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish the strategic direction of the Freight Brokerage division, in partnership with our executive team, to drive growth and deliver on performance and financial results.
- Lead and develop a high-performing team to achieve goals and stretch targets, including coaching, mentoring, and providing guidance on business development and operations.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers, rail and intermodal service providers, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with our requirements and drive business growth.
- Work closely with our Corporate VP of Supply Chain and team to capture business opportunities and minimize the use of outside 3 and 4PL providers.
- Responsible for meeting negotiated rates and services with all Freight Brokerage service providers.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, competitor activity, and market developments to inform business decisions and drive growth.
Requirements
- University degree in business, logistics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- CITT-Certified Logistics Professional (CCLP) designation or equivalent.
- 10+ years of experience leading a team in the Freight Brokerage industry, with a proven track record of driving growth and delivering results.
- Strong knowledge of the transportation, logistics, freight forwarding, LTL, TL, Courier, and warehousing industry.
- Superior communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence, motivate, and develop a high-performing team.
