We are seeking a skilled Civil Construction Labourer to join our team at JPS Construction Group. As a key member of our construction team, you will play a crucial role in supporting various civil construction projects, including road construction, concrete work, and other infrastructure development projects.
Key Responsibilities- Construction Assistance: Provide hands-on assistance in various construction tasks such as excavation, grading, compacting, and concrete pouring.
- Material Handling: Load, unload, and transport construction materials, tools, and equipment to the worksite.
- Site Preparation: Assist in site preparation activities, including clearing debris, leveling surfaces, and setting up temporary structures such as fences and scaffolding.
- Equipment Operation: Operate construction equipment such as jackhammers, power tools, compactors, and small machinery following proper safety procedures.
- Concrete Work: Assist in the preparation and pouring of concrete for foundations, slabs, curbs, and other structures.
- Demolition: Assist in the demolition and removal of existing structures, ensuring safe handling and disposal of debris.
- Site Maintenance: Keep the worksite clean and organized, including the removal of hazardous materials and waste.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations, wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and reporting any safety hazards or incidents to the supervisor.
- Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the construction team, including contractors, supervisors, and fellow labourers, to ensure efficient project completion.
- Equipment Maintenance: Assist in the maintenance and cleaning of construction equipment and tools to ensure they are in good working condition.
- Safe Operation of Trucks and Trailers: Safely drive trucks and trailers to transport construction materials, equipment, and machinery to and from the worksite. Conduct pre-trip inspections to check vehicle condition.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent education.
- Experience: Previous experience in civil construction or a related field is preferred.
- Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of construction techniques, materials, and tools. Proficiency in using basic hand tools and construction equipment.
- Physical Demands: Physically fit and able to perform physically demanding tasks, including heavy lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Work Environment: Ability to work in a fast-paced construction environment with varying weather conditions.
- Language: English (required).
- License/Certification: Class 5 License (required).
