About the Role:
This Senior Geophysicist position involves working closely with a multi-disciplinary team to optimize reservoir development plans, ensure successful execution of development plans, and support Cenovus' long-term strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with geologists, geomodellers, and engineers to develop annual strat well programs that accurately delineate the Foster Creek reservoir.
- Collaborate with the Seismic Acquisition team to design and implement 2D and 3D seismic programs that enhance reservoir characterization and delineation.
- Ensure consistent quality control over seismic data processing and provide input on development practices.
- Utilize advanced geophysical interpretation techniques, such as seismic inversion, to analyze reservoir complexity and identify opportunities for development.
- Contribute geophysical expertise to various projects, including geomodels, regulatory submissions, and resource management reports.
- Support SAGD well planning and execution by providing critical input on geological hazards, depth-converted surfaces, and well trajectories.
Key Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for this role should possess the following qualifications:
- Legally authorized to work in Canada.
- Registered as a Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo.) with APEGA.
- At least 8 years of experience in seismic acquisition, processing, and interpretation.
- Understanding of clastic depositional systems.
