About the Job
We are seeking an experienced Taxation Specialist - International Advisory to join our dynamic International Tax group. As a trusted advisor, you will develop innovative strategies that enable clients to streamline processes, maximize efficiencies and minimize global tax liability while meeting their international reporting requirements.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop technical skills in corporate income tax compliance, tax accounting, tax research and writing
- Apply knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, the Canadian Income Tax Act, bilateral income tax treaties and related legislation
- Manage multiple client files and set up new files as needed
- Research tax-related issues and conclude on potential implications
- Analyze financial and tax data to inform strategic decisions
- Review and correct discrepancies and irregularities in financial entries, documents and reports
- Compute taxes owed and prepare tax returns for various entities
- Prepare correspondence, technical reports and client summaries outlining engagement findings
- Collaborate with client engagement teams and build relationships with client contacts
Requirements:
- Possess a post-secondary degree, diploma or certificate in accounting or a relevant field
- Experience in accounting, customer service and/or client service environments preferred
- Previous experience in personal and corporate tax return preparation is an asset
- Working knowledge of accounting and tax software such as CaseWare, CCH Axcess and TaxPrep or Taxcycle is preferred
- Strong computer literacy including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Compensation and Benefits:
The estimated annual salary for this role is $60,000 - $80,000 CAD, depending on experience. Our comprehensive benefits package includes medical, dental and vision coverage, as well as a retirement savings plan.
