Job Summary

The York Region District School Board is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Elementary Inclusive Education Teacher to join our team. This part-time position (0.4FTE) is an excellent opportunity for a qualified educator to make a meaningful impact in the lives of students with diverse needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that cater to the unique needs of students.
  • Facilitate school-based team meetings to ensure effective collaboration and communication among teachers, students, parents, and administrative staff.
  • Communicate effectively with teachers, students, parents, and administrative team to ensure seamless support and services.
  • Collect and analyze data to inform instruction and make data-driven decisions.
  • Stay up-to-date with technology and utilize it to enhance teaching and learning.
  • Organize and implement curricular resources to support student learning and development.
  • Build relationships with external individuals and groups to establish support and services for students.

Requirements

  • Three or more years of teaching experience.
  • British Columbia Professional Teaching Certificate.
  • Masters degree or postgraduate diploma in Special Education/Inclusive Education (or willingness to begin one of these educational programs).
  • Willingness to work with a mentor.
