Job Title: Vice President, Research & Scientific Engagement

MS Canada is seeking a highly respected executive to lead its research efforts as Vice President, Research & Scientific Engagement. This key role oversees the organization's research strategies, priorities, and goals, as well as the granting process, conferences, and knowledge translation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement research strategies and priorities that align with MS Canada's mission and goals.
  • Oversee the granting process, ensuring that research funding is allocated effectively and efficiently.
  • Lead conferences and knowledge translation efforts to advance MS research and awareness.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations and activities of the research team.
  • Provide leadership to strategies and plans for the organization, sitting on multiple scientific committees.

Requirements:

  • Respected executive with an exemplary track record of research, scholarship, service, and senior leadership experience.
  • Earned doctorate (PhD) from a recognized university in a relevant field.
  • Leadership tenure from a similarly complex, national, and global organization with a disease prevention or health mandate.
  • Exceptional communications skills, able to communicate complex scientific issues to both scientific researchers and clinicians, and to the broader MS community in lay language.
  • Collaborative, responsive, thoughtful, and a team builder and mentor, with a deep commitment to supporting Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility (IDEA).
